The Siren by Katherine St. John | Quick Hit Book Review

If you love a wild night time soap, a la Revenge, you gotta read The Siren.

Hollywood A-lister Cole Power stars opposite his ex-wife Stella in The Siren, set to shoot in the Caribbean. And it’s directed by his son Jackson.

As the cast and crew gather, Stella isn’t the only one who’s hoping this film will mark her comeback. She’s brought her assistant Felicity along for the shoot. Taylor, a producer on the film, is fresh off a scandal that got her fired. They all need this film to go well.

Katherine St. John’s second novel is the beachiest of beach reads filled with big egos, narcissism, infidelity, substance abuse, and all the bad behavior you’d expect in a deliciously trashy night time soap. The cast collision hits a little late for me, and I didn’t fully buy one character’s transformation, but this is still one you’re gonna wanna have in your beach bag this summer.

St. John’s first book, The Lion’s Den (review), is just as juicy (maybe more!) and I’d totally rec that as a summer read, too.

CW: miscarriage; drug dependency, use and abuse; gun violence, sexual assault, murder
