We Tried the New Trader Joe’s Miso Ramen Cup

Stroll by Trader Joe’s new product section and you’ll see two new instant noodle options: chicken ramen soup and the one we’re trying today, Trader Joe’s Miso Ramen ($1.99 for a 1.5 oz cup). The ingredient list is surprising clean, wheat noodles, dried miso, yeast extract, potato starch, seaweed, etc. It contains soy and wheat, but is vegan.

Overall flavor is decent and it’s nice that there was a big piece of seaweed in the spice packet.

These instant noodles get a gold star for a clean ingredient list, but it’s also crazy high in sodium at 860mg in a serving. I definitely didn’t slurp down the broth as I usually do with ramen. Unfortunately, the serving is very small, so this cup is a snack at best. Don’t expect it to fill you up for lunch.

For me, it’s ok, but doesn’t beat the standard blue Top Ramen noodle packet or the Nong Shim instant noodle bowls we keep around.

Other recently reviewed Trader Joe’s products include Neapolitan Joe-Joe’s and the La Coquelouche Rosé, which is an amazing value and a great summer sipper.
