THE GOOD LUCK CHARM by Helena Hunting | 4-star Review

the good luck charmThe Good Luck Charm is everything: hot, sweet, sour and totally satisfying. A relatable, sexy, romance that transcends age.

In The Good Luck Charm, Helena Hunting builds on her trademark hilarity and heat and steps up with a second-chance romance that is much more than a rekindling of an old attraction. It’s also about the heroine’s struggle to put herself first, and it’s handled in a way that makes it relatable for women of all ages.

Ethan and Lilah were high school sweethearts who broke up when Ethan was drafted into the NHL. When he’s traded, he reappears in their hometown eight years after their split. Lilah finds herself reverting to old patterns, shaping her life around his. The chemistry between them is as strong as ever (we’ll get to that in a second), and that’s part of the problem. She knows she’s not the girl she used to be, but it’s so easy to fall back. I was so invested in Lilah that at times I just wanted to shake her and say, “Girl, you know what you need to do. Just do it!” The good news though, is that Lilah isn’t the only one maturing. Ethan goes through his own a ha! moment about their relationship.

The photo for this review was inspired by the Hot Lips chapter and this I-am-dead moment:

His warm breath washes over my lips, and he still as the end of his nose brushes against mine. “Can I kiss you?” The words barely carry.  I tip my chin up in response, and then his mouth is on mine, softly, sweetly — at least at first.  I taste penance in his gentleness. I feel his regret in the tender way his palm curves along my jaw, and I sense his need for forgiveness in the tentative stroke of his tongue.

The Good Luck Charm is everything – hot, sweet, sour and totally satisfying.
