We Tried Trader Joe’s Handheld Chicken Pot Pies

We’re gonna try something new and see how posting video goes. I’m a big fan of pot pie and hand pies in all their incarnations, savory or sweet. So when I saw Trader Joe’s Handheld Chicken Pot Pies, I knew they were coming home with me.

They come two to a package and I opted for the airfryer method. I usually increase the heat on TJ’s instructions, but this time I followed directions and went with 350F for 15 minutes. We just wanted to golden brown, not extra crispy.

Inside, the one I had seemed to be mostly potato with a little carrot and a few peas. Take a look for yourself in the video. What about the chicken? Hard to tell, honestly. If there was much chicken in there, the chunks weren’t very big. And since it’s supposed to be mostly dark meat, you’d think you’d be able to see it.

And yet…the pastry is nice and flaky and the filling is tasty, even if might be light on chicken. Would I buy it again? Yeah, I would. I mean, I have to see if the next batch has more chicken!
