Although probiotic isn’t really a selling point for me, I picked up Trader Joe’s Probiotic Sparkling Beverages yesterday. The flavors, ginger lemon and tangerine, sounded good and at $1.99 per 12 oz. can, it’s always good to have another option in place of soda.

What I like about these is they aren’t too sweet. The Ginger Lemon comes in with 27% juice and Tangerine clocks in at 19%. Not bad, all things considered. The Ginger Lemon is much more lemony than it is gingery, so if you’re a lemonade person, but need it with less sugar, it’d be a good choice. The tangerine is tangerine, I guess? Definitely not orange, but I don’t know if I could have told you it was tangerine in a blind taste test. Citrusy, for sure. Between the two, I think I’d go Ginger Lemon.

Although it probably defeats the purpose, these would be good for quick and dirty cocktails with a little vodka. Would I buy Trader Joe’s Probiotic Sparkling Beverages again? Yeah, probably, but only the Ginger Lemon. I tried to do a little sleuthing to see who might produce these and came up empty handed. Wondered if there might also be a strawberry or watermelon flavor, but I guess we just have to wait for those sparkling juices to come back this summer.
