Trader Joe’s French Chocolate Crepe Wafer Cookies are a really effective way to get chocolate into your face. The crepe layers are seriously so thin and crunchy. And wrapped, dare I say, enrobed(?) in milk chocolate? Delicious.
There are three cookies stacked in each compartment for a total of 21. A few on the first layer must have gotten pressed against the plastic wrapper at some point, hence the photo above. But the second row and third rows were fine. No impact on taste that I noticed.
So how do they compare to the plain French Crepe Wafer Cookies? The crepe part on the chocolate versionis even thinner and crispier than the plain crepe wafer cookies. Also less buttery and sweet. A couple would be perfect as a sweet treat with tea or coffee. Or throw ’em all on a plate when people come over and just want a little dessert.
Would I buy Trader Joe’s Chocolate Crepe Wafer Cookies again? Mmm, maybe. Ultimately it’s mostly about the chocolate, so I’d probably just grab a couple of Trader Joe’s chocolate caramel bars.
