New (and returning) summer items are rolling into Trader Joe’s every few days it seems like…today I picked up some of the new stuff along with my favorite Patio Potato Chips.
I’m looking forward to the pineapple fruit spread as a glaze for chicken, maybe little hand pies, we’ll see what else I come up with. I think I’ve just got a tropical vacation on the brain, and this is as close as I’ll come for a little while!
The vegan Cookies and Cream BonBons got a thumbs up from one of the crew members when I was checking out. If I had more room in my freezer I would have picked up a second box! Stay tuned for that review.
So far, I’ve only tried the Strawberry Shortcake Sandwich cookies and [sad horns], they’re too sweet for me. The cookie is on the crumblier side, kind of like a thicker pecan sandie, and the strawberry filling tastes a little fake to me. Though, according to the ingredient list, it’s real.
A. couple of other items I saw today but didn’t pick up this trip:
-Ube Tea Cookies – Ube fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the Pancake and Waffle mix. In the meantime, you can grab a pint of the Ube Ice Cream and these new cookies.
-Dark Chocolate Watermelon Sticks — A summer version of the orange sticks they usually have. I will probably skip this one, since the Watermelon Jerky was so odd I didn’t even bother to review it.
