Trader Joe’s Adds Maple (and Butternut Squash) to its Fall Flavor Celebration
Trader Joe’s Pumpkinpalooza is something of an institution. Minutes after Starbucks rolls out the Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin products start appearing on the shelves. The good news is, TJ’s has added maple (and butternut squash) to its annual celebration of fall flavors. Today we’re talking dessert with Trader Joe’s Maple Ginger Cookie Swirl Ice Cream ($2.99 for a 16 oz. container).
I swear I’m getting old, because lately, all of Trader Joe’s ice creams have seemed pretty sweet to me. And now, with maple, and a (invisible) maple swirl added to the mix, that’s true again with the Maple Ginger Cookie Swirl Ice Cream. Even still, the maple flavor is pretty good, but I could do with more ginger cookie pieces and even a sprinkle of salt to counter the sweetness!
I’ve been eating it out of the carton, but it would be great in an ice cream sandwich with a couple of Trader Joe’s gingersnap cookies, or even alongside a piece of apple pie.
If you’re a maple fan like me, Trader Joe’s maple syrup aged in a bourbon barrel is back (so good in holiday cocktails). They’ve got a new maple and sea salt kettle corn, and of course, there’s maple butter.
