It’s been a busy couple weeks for new products at Trader Joe’s. Along with summer items starting to come in, there are lots of new beauty / spa items, and the ube party is on. Let’s take a look at what we’ve spotted in the Pacific Northwest.
The New Items display at one of my local TJ’s includes Buffalo Ranch Popcorn, Sour Strawberry Belts, Tom Yum Snack Mix and Citrus Berry Herbal Tea. On the beauty front, we’ve got the peony bath fizzer, the Berry Glow Body Set, Fresh Blooms Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream and a new Night Cream.

We’ve got a new mango pineapple pico de gallo (I grabbed a container – review soon) along with returning Taco Gouda Cheese. The Ube Mochi Pancake mix has been back for a few weeks and now it’s joined by Ube Joe-Joe’s, Ube Pretzels, and Ube Tea Cookies. No sign of the Ube Mochi Ice Cream yet. Pineapple Sparkling Water has also made its comeback.

I grabbed a bag of the Buffalo Ranch popcorn and it lives up to the bold flavor claim. It leans toward ranch, but then you get some heat from the buffalo sauce flavoring. Texture-wise it reminds me of the cheese popcorn you get in holiday multi-flavor popcorn tins. Not quite crunchy/crisp, if you know what I mean. So, thumbs up for flavor, thumb sideways for texture.
Okonomiyaki, the Japanese cabbage pancake, is new to the freezer section. It doesn’t come with its own kewpie (I’m not a fan anyway), so I’ve been debating whether or not to review it.

Finally, new to the salads section: the Fiesta Salad with Shrimp and a creamy poblano dressing. I’m leery of shrimp in prepared items, but it looks like a good mix overall with roasted corn, tomatoes and black beans.
