On its latest podcast episode, Trader Joe’s previewed several new products due out this summer. Among them, Trader Joe’s Strawberry Rose fruit spread ($2.99 for a 12 oz. jar). They called this one out as a “limited buy” meaning they bought a specific lot from the maker and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Well, I have a pretty good palate. I wouldn’t say I’m a supertaster, but I can usually pick up fairly subtle flavors. Trader Joe’s Strawberry Rose fruit spread is a perfectly nice strawberry spread, but I don’t taste rose at all. Of course, you don’t want it to smell or taste like perfume, but I’m not picking up any rose. Still, it was a good excuse to buy a bag of Trader Joe’s frozen croissants (so delicious, they’re dangerous) for the taste test.
Don’t go out of your way for this one. Even as a limited buy, I won’t be stocking up. It just tastes like strawberry jam.
