Everybody’s got their favorites in the cornucopia of Trader Joe’s fall offerings. But as soon as I got wind of Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf Ice Cream Sandwiches, I knew they were gonna be at the top of the Must Try list. I’ve been a fan of the Maple Leaf cookies with maple creme filling, so these were a no brainer.

They come 4 to a box, individually wrapped, which is nice, so you can take up less room in your freezer. But if you’ve got more than 4 people in your house, you might want to grab two boxes. I usually try to do ice cream reviews 24 hours after buying it, so you’ve got a full night’s freeze, but I just couldn’t wait with these. The ice cream got melty pretty quickly, but I’m not holding that against them, these are a 2-3 bite proposition, so there’s barely time to worry about it!
The cookie is on the softer side (compared to the boxed cookies) and squishes down nicely with the ice cream. The ice cream is on the sweeter side, but in 2-3 bites it’s not overwhelming. We’re dealing with maple flavoring but it doesn’t taste super artificial. If I was being super picky, I’d say, a maple pecan ice cream would have been nice, just to give them a little more texture.

Would I buy them again? Yeah, these are good. Not knock your socks off amazing, but good. The ingredient list does include palm oil (SIGH), so that’s one strike against it. But yeah, I think I would.
