Trader Joe’s jumps on the Dubai (Style) Chocolate trend with PatisLove’s Pistachio Dark Chocolate version that’s $3.99 for a 3.5 oz bar. Made in Turkey, the bar features a pistachio filling with crunchy kataifi (crunchy filo) bits and it’s fantastic. I’ve been whatever about Dubai Chocolate because of the price and the hype, but this version works for me.

You can see the pistachio filling layer isn’t super thick, more along the lines of a Ritter Sport bar. The dark chocolate clocks in at 50% according to PatisLove’s site, making it more of a semi-sweet than dark-dark. Either way, together with the pistachio filling and the crunchies, it’s a delight. And apparently its exclusive to Trader Joe’s. Is there much more to say? Not really. At $3.99 it’s definitely worth trying if you like pistachios.

It’s worth noting PatisLove makes another version that looks a little more “classic.” Milk chocolate with a thicker layer of the pistachio filling. This chocolate drop in stores today is pushing back a review of the Mango Habanero Guacamole and the Roasted Tomato Labneh Dip, so check back if you’re interested.
