If you like everything about brie except for the rind, Trader Joe’s Brie Cheese Flavored Spread is for you. It’s not the most flavorful brie I’ve ever had, but it spreads nicely on a cracker. It can be dolloped on salad. Think of it as brie training wheels. I tried it on a fall favorite: pear, brie, and walnut salad with red wine vinaigrette.

The brie cheese spread is very mild, so it was easily overpowered by the red wine vinagrette. But I could see doing a cheese & cracker pairing with pear on top, so you can taste it little more. The spread is also lighter in texture than triple cream brie, and it could totally work on a bagel. For me, this one won’t be something I buy again. Only because for my cheese calories/fat, I’ll be holding out until Trader Joe’s Fromage Pave comes back for the holidays. (It’s my favorite brie style cheese).
