As we roll into summer, lots of Trader Joe’s items are making their annual return. But there’s one that’s actual cause for celebration. Trader Joe’s Patio Potato Chips ARE BACK! A mix of Sea Salt & Vinegar, Dill, Smokin’ Sweet BBQ, and Ketchup-flavored chips, they’ve been a favorite since they launched here in 2019. My original review is here.

While TJ’s never confirms or denies, there was speculation that they were a rebadged version of Covered Bridge’s Storm Chips, made in Canada. Then in March 2024, a fire destroyed Covered Bridge’s factory in New Brunswick. It was bad news for Canadians and bad news for TJ’s Patio Potato Chips lovers in the US. But by August, they were back up and working in a temporary facility.
And lucky for us, it’s Patio Potato Chips season once again at TJs. It’s one of the easiest ways for ketchup chip fans who can’t get to Canada to get their fix. I only bought one bag today, but I’ll definitely be back for more. At least until the Carolina Gold BBQ Chips make their return.
Also spotted today:
Ube Ice Cream (tub, not the mochi)
Hard Top Chocolate Shell Topping (aka TJ’s Magic Shell)
Everything But the Elote Greek Style Yogurt Dip
Green Goddess Gouda (Pasteurized Process Gouda with Parsley, Basil and Garlic)
