Humphry Slocombe’s Ice Cream Book and Butter Beer (at Home!)

There's really only one thing to say about Humphry Slocombe's Butter Beer ice cream: OMFG. It's not hyperbole. It's not even sucking up, this ice cream is really that good. It's ridiculous. And hold the phone, I didn't get this scoop at the shop, I made it. At home. From the new book - the Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream Book. Now, if you're already a Humphry Slocombe fan, I know what you're saying, "What, you didn't start with Secret Breakfast?" In six courses, it was inventive, it was sometimes challenging, it was beautiful.

Sure, I've stopped reading the Sydney Morning Herald and even more recently given up using the milk frother everytime I make coffee, but we did find ourselves at South Food and…

I’ll Be Your Huckleberry

In the last few weeks huckleberries have been popping up on menus everywhere I look...we had the wild huckleberry bread pudding at Coco500 (with caramel sauce - to die for!), the pear baba at Village Pub also had huckleberries and the tart tatin at Piacere in San Carlos was garnished with 2-3 huckleberries. I'm not…
