When you read romance, obviously you’re supposed to be rooting for the main couple. In INTERCEPTED (out September 11, 2018), I found myself cheering not only for Marlee and Gavin, but for the rock solid friendships Marlee has with her…
So. Much. Competence. Porn.
Maggie Wells' Love Game totally took me by surprise. Had I not stumbled on the Dear Author review that clued me in to the fact that it's a sports romance that features characters over the age of 40, I might not have picked it up. And did I mention that it's…
You've seen the Snackadium, the pizza with a pepperoni football, the zillion layer dip, but come Sunday you might want a more literal football food -- inari, the sushi we've always called "footballs." The basic inarizushi is simply filled with seasoned white sticky rice, a fancier version might add some shredded teriyaki chicken and carrots, and this one, I went full-on, stuffing it with bacon and char siu fried rice. Before we get to Christmas, there's one more week(end) of football. It’s comfort food from childhood that still hits the spot to this day if I’m not feeling great.
Super Bowl Sunday always seems to be about dips. Salsa, guacamole, Lipton onion soup mix, ranch, maybe hummus. If you're looking for a little something different for your Super Bowl shindig the sumac-spiced sauce that goes with these turkey zucchini burgers may be just the thing. The burgers, from the Jerusalem cookbook, are very good, and…
I don't really know why I started thinking about spiced nuts this weekend. Must be something about the sun being lower in the sky, and the cooler weather settling in...and the smell of anything roasting, whether its chiles or chicken or nuts, just feels like fall. I didn't think there was anything that could make pecans and almonds taste even better, until now.
