Not sure what the hold up was, but now that I&#8217;ve finally had them, I kinda wish I&#8217;d gotten two boxes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Trader-Joes-Portuguese-Custard-Tarts-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload_inited wp-image-21017\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Trader-Joes-Portuguese-Custard-Tarts-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Trader-Joes-Portuguese-Custard-Tarts-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Trader-Joes-Portuguese-Custard-Tarts-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Trader-Joes-Portuguese-Custard-Tarts.jpg 740w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">They come four to a box, and I was surprised to find them not wrapped (which was actually good, less plastic going into the landfill) but still a surprise. You bake them at 375F for 20-25 minutes and they&#8217;re done. The box also has air fryer instructions, if that&#8217;s your thing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The pastry is gorgeously crisp and flaky and the custard filling is creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. They&#8217;re small, about 2 inches or so in diameter. These would make great little handheld desserts for your next get together, or when you need a 3 pm pick me up with coffee.
