But Trader Joe&#8217;s has done pretty well with its oat milk products, especially the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2019\/10\/18\/trader-joes-non-dairy-oat-beverage\/\">refrigerated non-dairy oat beverage.<\/a> You can add Trader Joe&#8217;s Oat Milk Strawberry Ice Cream to that list of hits, not even a hint of oaty-ness.  At $3.99 a carton, it runs a dollar or two less than grocery store brands. And technically it&#8217;s called Trader Joe&#8217;s Non-Dairy Oat Frozen Dessert (rolls right off the tongue, eh?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/trader-joes-strawberry-nondairy-frozen-dessert-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload_inited wp-image-19974\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/trader-joes-strawberry-nondairy-frozen-dessert-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/trader-joes-strawberry-nondairy-frozen-dessert-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/trader-joes-strawberry-nondairy-frozen-dessert-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/trader-joes-strawberry-nondairy-frozen-dessert.jpg 740w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Texture is nice and creamy on this frozen vegan treat, but it <em>is<\/em> on the softer side. It may be that my freezer is just so jam packed these days it&#8217;s tough to freeze it solid, but that&#8217;s a plus in my book. No need to wait around for this frozen dessert to thaw so you can scoop it.  That said, you gotta eat it fast before it melts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The strawberry flavor is fairly mild (but I think that about most strawberry ice creams).  So Trader Joe&#8217;s has folded in some candied strawberries and almond brittle bits. The brittle doesn&#8217;t taste like much, but it does add some nice texture.  The candied strawberries bump up the strawberry flavor a tiny bit, but I would have liked (a lot) more in the carton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">You might sprinkle it with some crushed up freeze dried strawberries or even the strawberries in syrup Trader Joe&#8217;s had around the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Overall, Trader Joe&#8217;s is headed in the right direction with this one. I&#8217;ll call it a win.
