My aunt used to make it with the requisite Chex cereal, mixed nuts, pretzels and wheat nuts (which I&#8217;m not even sure exist anymore). We&#8217;ve never been a garlic bagel chip or Cheez-It, or Goldfish family. But this year, I&#8217;m mixing up our Chex Mix a bit and trying some new additions. I can now confirm Chex Mix with Peatos Fiery Hot is a delicious decision.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload_inited aligncenter size-full wp-image-17406\" src=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/chex-mix-with-peatos-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"966\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/chex-mix-with-peatos-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/chex-mix-with-peatos-1-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/chex-mix-with-peatos-1-398x600.jpg 398w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>Peatos are a pea and lentil-based snacked aimed to offer a healthier alternative to Cheetos. I <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2018\/08\/29\/we-tried-peatos-vs-cheetos\/\">taste-tested them back in August,<\/a> around the time they were coming on strong with an aggressive tagline about Tigers living longer than Cheetahs. I tried both the Classic Cheese and Fiery Hot flavors and opted to add the Fiery Hot to this year&#8217;s Chex Mix.\u00a0 Usually our Chex Mix includes corn, rice and wheat Chex, but wheat is always the last to go, so I skipped them this time. I&#8217;m thinking I&#8217;ll add both Peatos and Inca corn to the next batch.<\/p>\n<p>Peatos are available in the produce section at stores including\u00a0Baker\u2019s, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Foods Co, Fred Meyer, Fry\u2019s, Gerbes, King Soopers, Jay C Food Store, Owens Market, Pay-Less Super Markets, QFC, Ralphs, and Smith\u2019s Food and Drug. Let it melt completely.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"step\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"step-number\">4<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"step-content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Stir in the worcestershire, seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder until evenly distributed.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"step\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"step-number\">5<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"step-content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Add the cereal mixture and stir to coat with the butter.
