Feast Portland<\/a>‘s Brunch Village is always an intriguing mix of flavors. You can rely on some Portland favorites showing up, some out-of-towners, and there’s free flowing champagne and a Bloody Mary bar. This year’s event featured bites from some hometown favorites including Mae<\/a>, Little T Baker<\/a>, and Tusk,<\/a> as well as Austin’s Launderette<\/a> and NYC’s Milk Bar<\/a>, owned by Chef and Masterchef Judge Christina Tosi.<\/p>\n

Although brunch is usually the most decadent most of us get in the morning, there were a surprising number of yogurt parfait-like offerings, the most interesting one coming from Icelandic Chef Oli Gusta.<\/p>\n

Let’s talk beverages. Of course, there were mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar. Aria Gin<\/a> brought a Campari and Grapefruit twist on Gin and Juice that I would have had 2-3 of on a warmer day. Deschutes Brewery<\/a> brought beer to brunch in the form of two coffee cocktails based on their flagship Black Butte Porter. Deschutes paired its flagship porter with Stumptown’s original and chocolate cold brews.<\/p>\n

It’s the kind of drink that goes down easy for those early-on-Sunday football games, or even as dessert with the late day game.<\/p>\n

Deschutes’ Black Butte Porter has been around for almost 30 years, and has helped grow the brand and expand distribution across the U.S. \u00a0So why brunch?<\/p>\n

“We really wanted to find a unique way to feature our dark beers in an environment that we can play off of everyone\u2019s favorite brunch cocktails. We have launched an ‘official beer of brunch’ campaign with a Woody (our mobile beer bar in a big barrel) Brunch Tour, created national brunch day and a handful of fun beer brunch cocktails among other fun ways to play in the popular brunch space,\u201d said a spokesperson for Deschutes.<\/p>\n
