Food-wise, it was a hodge-podge, though I did cook Friday night after living off of enchilada casserole all week. It felt good to get back in the kitchen on Saturday morning and do something that didn&#8217;t involve sitting in front of a computer. Kneading dough for pita bread and running some errands did me some good. But then that pita really needed something to go along with. Hummus? \u00a0Mmm, ok, but maybe something else?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2013\/09\/15\/recovering-from-a-long-week-with-beets-with-yogurt-and-zaatar\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11375\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload_inited aligncenter\" alt=\"beets with yogurt and za'atar| dailywaffle\" src=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/beets-with-yogurt-and-zaatar-dip-dailywaffle.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This month&#8217;s ingredient for <a href=\"http:\/\/omgyummy.com\/2013\/09\/08\/tasting-jerusalem-pomegranate-molasses\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tasting Jerusalem<\/a> is pomegranate molasses, but every recipe in the book that&#8217;s been catching my eye lately involves date syrup, which I haven&#8217;t been able to track down. So with a batch of roasted beets in the fridge &#8212; I was in prep mode last weekend, too &#8212; I made this gorgeous magenta dip. Pureed beets doesn&#8217;t sound&#8230;.delicious, beet dip just sounds weird, but what it is, is a delicious third option as part of a mezze plate along with hummus and <a title=\"Dip, Baby, Dip: Muhammara (Roasted Red Pepper Dip)\" href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2012\/01\/01\/dip-baby-dip-muhammara-roasted-red-pepper-dip\/\" target=\"_blank\">mujammara<\/a>, which also uses pomegranate molasses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s not far off from being a <a title=\"Haters Gonna Hate, But You\u2019ll Love Roasted Beet Pesto\" href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2013\/02\/06\/roasted-beet-pesto\/\">beet pesto<\/a>, and it&#8217;s just as simple. \u00a0Beets, garlic, chile, yogurt, olive oil, syrup and za&#8217;atar go into a food processor and 10-12 pulses later, you&#8217;ve got your third Musketeer.
