Well, of course there&#8217;ll be Chex Mix. \u00a0What about something a little more special, but still quick to make? This one had 1\/4 c. ground flaxseeds in it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/2012\/11\/07\/sun-dried-tomato-pesto-pinwheels\/sun-dried-tomato-pinwheels-prebake\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10015\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload_inited aligncenter wp-image-10015 size-full\" title=\"sun dried tomato pinwheels prebake\" src=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sun-dried-tomato-pinwheels-prebake.jpg\" alt=\"sun-dried tomato pesto pinwheels\" width=\"500\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sun-dried-tomato-pinwheels-prebake.jpg 500w, https:\/\/dailywaffle.com\/stage1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/sun-dried-tomato-pinwheels-prebake-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pesto is a sun-dried tomato version of Pesto Trapanese from Sicily, which uses tomatoes, almonds, garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes for flavor. For the pinwheels, you want more of a paste consistency versus a loose sauce, as you need to spread it on the dough.\u00a0 When I make this to go with pasta, I also add in a little Italian parsley. This will make more pesto than you need, but otherwise, it&#8217;s such a small amount the food processor would barely be able to chop it.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, when you bake them, they don\u2019t keep their gorgeous red color, but they taste fantastic. Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper flakes and pulse 2-3 more times. With the machine running, add the olive oil. Start with a 1\/4 c. The pesto should be paste-like in consistency.
