We Tried Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Yellow Mini Sheet Cake
with Chocolate Frosting! I've been on alert for Trader Joe's Yellow Mini Sheet Cake with chocolate frosting after seeing u/aswewaltz posted it in NY on Reddit 8 days ago. Every trip, I was disappointed. But today...finally... TJ's in the PNW have been blessed with the new gluten free sheet cake. So let's cut into it!…
We Tried Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns
I was skeptical when I saw that Trader Joe's newest dumpling was teriyaki-flavored. Teriyaki in a bao? I imagined a gloopy super sweet soy-based sauce overwhelming the veg filling. But now that I've tried Trader Joe's Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns? I think it's meant to be more of a shorthand toward a sweet,…

What’s New at Trader Joe’s – March 27, 2024

We’ve got eight new and returning items on this week’s What’s New at Trader Joe’s roundup. As we head into Easter weekend, whether you celebrate it as a religious holiday or as a Spring renewal day, or not at all, you’ve got some tasty options to consider throwing into your basket.

First up, Cinnamon Twist Danish with a Custard Filling. So, I got it wrong last week when I assumed the Salted Caramel Danish with a custard filling was the one mentioned on Inside Trader Joe’s. This big boy was $8.49 at my store. It was too awkward to get a photo of the nutrition facts without ruining the danish, but I believe they’re saying each serving clocks in at 500 calories. So, just know what you’re getting into. LOL.

Brown Sugar Boba Mochi was also mentioned on Inside Trader Joe’s. Not sure how it compares to the version Costco offered last year, but looks pretty similar. I *know* this one is gonna be too sweet for me.

Vanilla Cookie Thins join Lemon and Ginger. Now, if Trader Joe’s would just make chocolate thins that are great for ice box cakes (the Nabisco ones were discontinued), we’d be in business.

I usually don’t buy bottled lemon juice, but this one is just pure lemon juice, no additives, and not from concentrate. It is pasteurized though. I’m interested to see how it compares to the usual grocery store lemons we get around these parts.

For our vegan friends, we’ve got Trader Joe’s Savory Squares, cheddar style crackers. Which sounds to me like it’s a vegan Cheez-it. I brought these home, so I’ll report back soon.

If the Lemon Mini Sheet Cake was a little too much for you, give the Lemon Zest Madeleines a try. I’ve been a fan for awhile (er, at least since last year?! and bought an extra package to throw in the freezer. The first package I got was leaning toward the dry side, but otherwise, no complaints.

Another returning seasonal item is the Ricotta and Lemon Zest Ravioli. Of TJ’s ravioli, these might be my fave. They’re definitely top 3.

Clearly, it’s all lemon all the time at TJ’s right now. I missed including the Baked Lemon Ricotta in last week’s round up, so you’re getting it now. I grabbed one for Easter.
