Trader Joe’s holiday items are coming on strong. We’re still 2 weeks from Thanksgiving and Christmas items are already on shelves. From Peppermint Joe-Joe’s (cookies & ice cream!) to gingerbread people to the Chocolate Orange that you break open. It’s on. And now, Trader Joe’s has O’Nog, or oat milk nog in its holiday lineup.
I rolled through Trader Joe’s yesterday and the Christmas items are coming on strong. Peppermint Joe-Joe’s (cookies & the ice cream), the Dark Chocolate Orange, Gingerbread people, English Toffee, Holiday Ornament Cookie Kits, the Chocolate Peppermint Loaf Baking Mix. It’s on. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, soy free, and vegan. It’s got a good, thick mouthfeel like standard egg nog, but it’s a little light on the spices. No complaints here, though, I’ll just add a shake or two of nutmeg. It’s not overly sweet, but it’s worth knowing that there isn’t anything bringing the eggy-ness of egg nog to the party.
It looks like Target also has an oat milk holiday nog under their Good & Gather brand. Ingredient list is fairly similar (though in a different order), so we’ll have to see how it compares. I hear Sprouts has a version, too, but we don’t have Sprouts in the PNW.
