We Tried Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns
I was skeptical when I saw that Trader Joe's newest dumpling was teriyaki-flavored. Teriyaki in a bao? I imagined a gloopy super sweet soy-based sauce overwhelming the veg filling. But now that I've tried Trader Joe's Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns? I think it's meant to be more of a shorthand toward a sweet,…

We Tried Trader Joe’s Apple Cider Marinated Pork Loin

Trader Joe’s Apple Cider Marinated Pork Loin is a great way to welcome fall. I only regret that I didn’t grab a jar of applesauce or the pineapple fruit spread. Because while it has cinnamon, cloves, and other spices in the marinade, this is definitely a savory pork roast. I ended up using a little bit of fig jam to go with it.

While it recommended putting into an oiled pan and baking it, I put it on a wire rack on a baking sheet and threw into the oven at 400F. Forty minutes later, at ~ 135F, it was done. I let the carry over take it up to 140F. But this roast is actually so moist, if you cooked it in the oven to 145F recommended on the package and let it carry over, you’d probably be fine.

I served it with the Big Apple salad with Brussels sprouts from Malibu Farm Sunrise to Sunset (affiliate link). It’s a mix of kale, arugula, honeycrisp apple and roasted Brussels sprouts dressed in a maple mustard dressing. And yes, I used the TJ’s Bourbon Barrel Maple Syrup. (I’m so glad it’s back!!).

The pork was also delicious cold the next day for leftovers. A great option for sandwiches, too. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Trader Joe’s Apple Cider Marinated Pork Loin Roast Ingredients: Pork Loin, Apple Cider marinade (brine [Apple juice, garlic, sea salt, cinnamon, coriander, red chili pepper], seasoning [salt, brown sugar, spice, paprika, dehydrated onion, dehydrated garlic], vinegar powder, rosemary extract) cinnamon stick, cloves.
