We Tried Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Yellow Mini Sheet Cake
with Chocolate Frosting! I've been on alert for Trader Joe's Yellow Mini Sheet Cake with chocolate frosting after seeing u/aswewaltz posted it in NY on Reddit 8 days ago. Every trip, I was disappointed. But today...finally... TJ's in the PNW have been blessed with the new gluten free sheet cake. So let's cut into it!…
We Tried Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns
I was skeptical when I saw that Trader Joe's newest dumpling was teriyaki-flavored. Teriyaki in a bao? I imagined a gloopy super sweet soy-based sauce overwhelming the veg filling. But now that I've tried Trader Joe's Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns? I think it's meant to be more of a shorthand toward a sweet,…

Twilight Returns to Theaters In a Special Two Night Movie Event

It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the release of Twilight. Officially released November 21, 2008, Fathom Events is bringing the film back to select theaters for two nights: Sunday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 23. Get tickets.

A decade later, it’s hard not to view Edward as the most problematic of baes. It’s equally hard to deny Twilight’s place in pop culture history. We moved to the Pacific Northwest around the time Twilight came out, and I ripped through the books. Over the years, I’ve watched the movie so many times, my husband still quotes Mike Newton’s line, “How you likin’ the rain, girl?” (He also quotes the hilarious RiffTrax version of Twilight, which we’ll also probably revisit in honor of the anniversary.)

I’m interested to see how the movie feels through a 2018 lens. Bella is welcomed to Forks High by newspaper editor Eric, played by Korean-American actor Justin Chon. Her friend Angela is played by Mexican-American actress Christian Serratos. And, of course who could forget Edi Gathegi as Laurent? Cullens aside, it already feels more diverse than most high school movies of its era.

Twilight 10th Anniversary screenings will include an introduction from director Catherine Hardwicke and an exclusive sneak peek of the brand-new special feature “Twilight Tour…10 Years Later.” According to the Fathom Events site, attendees will also receive a commemorative poster.

Twilight 10th Anniversary editions of the five films in The Twilight Saga will be available on Blu-Ray/ DVD October 23. They’ll feature new cover art from illustrator Justin Erickson. According to The Twilight Saga Twitter, the discs will also include “never before seen content.” Details on the extras are slim on the various pre-order sites.
