First Look: Chef Jason Wilson’s the Lakehouse Opens in Bellevue

The Lakehouse, Chef Jason Wilson's new northwest farmhouse concept, opens Thursday at the Lincoln Square expansion in Bellevue.

The Lakehouse opens today at the Lincoln Square Expansion in Bellevue. Helmed by Jason Wilson, chef-owner of Seattle’s Miller’s Guild, the restaurant is an elegant interpretation of northwest vacation homes of the past. It reads like an architect’s getaway with artisan touches throughout the space, from hand thrown stoneware dishes to custom knives made by a bladesmith in Kent. An herb garden will inhabit the Tetris-like column at the bar. (Scroll through the photos above).

Wilson’s opening menu focuses on produce-driven cooking, accented with local seafood and meat. Local products are sourced from Washington farmers including, Froghollow Farm in Walla Walla; Local Roots Farms and Cherry Valley Dairy in Duvall; and Apulum Garden in Darrington.  The restaurant has the exclusive on Froghollow’s “Frog Egg” eggplant and cherry tomato cross that has a hint of strawberry.


Wilson is bringing Bellevue a much needed new option for a night out with a selection of thoughtful, seasonal small plates and larger dishes for sharing.  Downtown folk should also have a great spot for a business lunch or an after work cocktail.

If you’re looking for a sexier speakeasy vibe, Wilson is also behind Civility and Unrest, a cocktail bar fronted by a fantastic street art mural at the W Bellevue. This is not a hotel lobby bar. The space is gorgeous, lit by oversize globe lights and divided into a front bar and a loungey half moon banquette in back.  Civility and Unrest will feature a small bites menu to complement its craft cocktails. One wall of the bar is dedicated to brown liquor with a selection of whiskies, cognac and dark rum. It’s not taking itself too seriously, though. The cocktail menu includes the “Ma-na-ma-na” with Plantation Rum, pamplemousse, pineapple and coconut.

Civility and Unrest is located at street level in the W Bellevue. The Lakehouse is located on the second floor of the Lincoln Square Expansion, and will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as in-room dining for the hotel.
