We Tried Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Yellow Mini Sheet Cake
with Chocolate Frosting! I've been on alert for Trader Joe's Yellow Mini Sheet Cake with chocolate frosting after seeing u/aswewaltz posted it in NY on Reddit 8 days ago. Every trip, I was disappointed. But today...finally... TJ's in the PNW have been blessed with the new gluten free sheet cake. So let's cut into it!…
We Tried Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns
I was skeptical when I saw that Trader Joe's newest dumpling was teriyaki-flavored. Teriyaki in a bao? I imagined a gloopy super sweet soy-based sauce overwhelming the veg filling. But now that I've tried Trader Joe's Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns? I think it's meant to be more of a shorthand toward a sweet,…

3 Bingeable Book Series in Romance

I love a good bingeable TV series as much as the next couch potato, but it’s not something we usually see in publishing. And honestly, publishers would rather you buy the books as they come out, rather than waiting for all the books in a series to be available. But if your TBR is already a zillion long, some series get away from you. I’ve got 3 bingeable book series in romance for you. (What, only 3? It’s 10 books total)!

One quick caveat. I ‘m not saying every book in every series was a 5-star read for me, but the characters are ones I wanted to come back and hang out with again for a couple of hours. So you’re gonna see a couple 3-star ratings, which for me isn’t a “C,” it’s more like, “It was fine.”

Roni Loren’s The Ones Who Got Away series follows four friends 10 years after a prom night shooting.

RONI LOREN’S THE ONES WHO GOT AWAY

The Ones Who Got Away series (4 books) follows four friends who survived a school shooting on prom night 10+ years ago. They reconnect around the anniversary of the shooting and create friendships and a support network. Loren handles the aftermath with sensitivity and grace throughout the series, and you’re rooting for each friend to find her happiness and fulfillment. The last book in the series, THE ONE FOR YOU, dropped on December 30, so it might have gotten by you in all the holiday hub-bub. It’s a must read.

THE SOMETIMES IN LOVE SERIES by Melonie Johnson

Melonie Johnson’s Sometimes in Love series (3 books) kicks off with Getting Hot With the Scot, which follows a group of girlfriends on a trip to Edinburgh. Cassie and her friends are enjoying a whisky tasting and castle tour when she gets lost and ends up meeting Logan, who’s filming a prank show at the castle. It’s not exactly love at first sight. The other two books in the series follow Cassie’s English professor friend Bonnie and actress Sadie. Bonnie’s book, Smitten by the Brit, is my favorite of the three.

The Central Park Pact Series by Lauren Layne

Lauren Layne’s The Central Park Pact series (3 books) is the one I’m bingeing next. Marriage on Madison Avenue, the final book, comes out on Tuesday, January 28. The series follows an unlikely friendship among three women — one man’s wife and his two mistresses. Marriage on Madison Avenue is a fake relationship/ friends-to-lovers story that sounds like it’s right up my alley.
