Sizzling! Dare I say, Harper St. George saved the best for last? The Dove and the Rogue wraps up her Gilded Age Doves of New York series with a delicious, down-bad-and-in-denial-about-it marriage of convenience story. After a season of being pursued by known rogue Lord David Felding, American opera singer Jenny Dove offers him a proposition: one night together in exchange for a marriage that’ll secure her inheritance.

The Dove and the Rogue by Harper St. George

Jenny’s gun shy after a love affair that didn’t go the way she expected and is determined to view this deal with David as nothing more than a transaction. But David falls hard and he’s determined to woo his wife into loving him. Despite his reputation, David’s tender and thoughtful. (My “just a good dude!” streak continues!) While the story’s a bit more contained, the faster pace worked for me, and it’s a fitting finish to an entertaining series.

It’s also spicier than the first two installments in the series, so if you’ve read The Stranger I Wed and Eliza and the Duke, be prepared. I’m convinced with the trad pub gloves off, Harper St. George got to turn up the heat on her own terms. Eyebrow waggle. I loved it.

The Dove and the Rogue is available now in ebook and paperback. The audiobook, narrated by Renee Dorian, will follow on June 2. Signed copies are available from Eagle Eye Books.
