This week, Audible rolled out two new Audible Originals that are gonna bring me right back to subscribing. With heavy hitter casts, Audible isn’t messing around.

Audible’s new production of Bram Stroker’s Dracula stars Ella Purnell and Jonathan Bailey. And if you’ve seen the teaser clip on Entertainment Tonight’s IG, well, if you didn’t already love Bailey from his turn as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, you undoubtedly will now. Even I was not prepared. 👀 But this is also a pretty stacked cast, not unlike Audible’s recent full-cast Pride and Prejudice adaptation. Along with Purnell and Bailey, the cast includes Louis Partridge from House of Guinness; David Jonsson from Rye Lane, plus Lesley Manville and Maggie Gyllenhaal. SAY LESS.

Next up is The Moons of LA by Paul Bae, dropping October 8. It’s an audio comedy series starring Ken Jeong, Jae Sun Park, and Alyssa Abiera, plus a who’s who of Asian American actors: Daniel Dae Kim, Randall Park, Jimmy O. Yang, and John Cho.

Here’s the synopsis:

By day, Chloe Moon is a precocious middle schooler; by night, an investigative journalism podcast aficionado. She dreams of hosting her own true crime series, delivering justice to the bereaved and the wronged. So when she stumbles onto the revelation that her parents’ marriage is falling apart, she realizes this could upend her whole life. She turns her amateur investigative eye towards solving her parents’ marital issues and helping heal their rift. But in the process of interviewing her subjects over plates of banchan with gregarious halmeonis and rounds of golf with her father’s boisterous buddies, Chloe peels back the layers to get to the core of what makes a family.

Two More Audible Originals Worth Checking Out

If you want to make sure to maximize that trial subscription, let me give you TWO more star-studded Audible Originals worth checking out: Lily Chu’s Just Kiss Already, narrated by Phillipa Soo and Simu Liu. This one’s a rom-com about a forensic anthropologist by day, cozy mystery author by night, and a former teen star turned filmmaker who’s about to premiere her first film, based on one of his books. In audio now, it’s slated to publish in paperback on March 9, 2027.

Aunties by Kevin Yee stars Wai Ching Ho, Rosalind Chao, and Lauren Tom. It’s a very fun action-mystery audio drama about  some ass-kicking aunties determined to preserve Chinatown and protect it from encroaching gentrification. But really, it’s a story that applies to any longstanding ethnic neighborhood.
