Trader Joe’s track record with Korean food items has been pretty good. Well, at least the frozen items that are product of Korea. Unfortunately, Trader Joe’s Korean Style Bibim-Guksu doesn’t quite measure up. I’d call it convention center quality. Mid at best. Let’s get into it.

To start, it’s more snack sized than meal-sized. The small bit of kimchi in it was sour, not in a delightful way. The veg was fine, mostly napa cabbage, a few cucumber cubes, some grated carrot. But I think it’s the cabbage that contributed to the industrial prepared salad taste. Might be a little oxidation.
Dressing is on the sweet side. You’ll see in the video that I stirred most of the dressing into the noodles and then drizzled a little bit of what’s left on the veg. Although it says it’s spicy on the label, I think they went with mild gochujang to keep it accessible. I didn’t get any kick from it. YMMV. I added the hard boiled egg.
Would I buy it again? Nah.
