Yea or Nay on 3 New Trader Joe’s Holiday Sweets

Everybody has their Trader Joe’s holiday favorites whether it’s Jingle Jangle or Candy Cane Joe Joe’s. But will your holiday get together be complete without one of these new holiday sweets? Here are quick hit reviews on a few of Trader Joe’s holiday sweets, new for 2024.

Trader Joe's Rum Balls

YEA! Trader Joe’s Rum Balls are more of a boozy, fudgy cake ball than truffle. And they are indeed flavored with actual rum. Although palm oil is on the ingredient list (boo), they get a yea and a yay from me. Buy again? Yes.

Trader Joe's Cassata Baked Ricotta Slice Out

NAY! I was hoping Trader Joe’s Cassata Baked Ricotta Cheese would be the chocolate chip canolli filling of my dreams. But the texture was too firm for me. It’s not bad, it’s just not for me. If you’re looking for a sweet, desserty cheese to add to your cheese board, go with the Baked Lemon Ricotta.

Trader Joe's British Shortbread Assortment

YEA! Trader Joe’s British Shortbread Cookie Collection features 3 flavors — coffee, cocoa, and toffee nut. Coffee is fine, nothing amazing. Cocoa is good. And the Toffee Nut I could smash the whole thing myself and not share! Buy again? For sure.
