You can feel early summer is right around the corner with the new and returning products hitting shelves this week at Trader Joe’s. Let’s take a look at what we spotted in the Pacific Northwest.
First up, Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce. I’ll be waiting for the Carolina Gold chips, but I know a lot of people are looking forward to firing up the grill and slathering some chicken with this barbecue sauce.
Synergistically Seasoned Popcorn. Tangy, salty, smoky and a little spicy. I wasn’t a fan, but that means more for you! 🙂
Shrimp Scampi in a lemon garlic butter sauce.
Summery cocktails are in your future with the return of Watermelon Cucumber Cooler and the Jalapeño Limeade.
Trader Joe’s All Occasion Sprinkles are colored with fruit and vegetable juices and spirulina (for the blue).
Europe has a couple of extra hot summers leading to olive oil shortages and higher prices this year. So it’s no surprise that so far we’ve seen California and now Australian olive oil hit shelves at Trader Joe’s. Red Island seems to be a grocery store-level brand Down Under, often stocked at Woolworth’s, Coles and some independent grocers.
Jumeokbap, Korean rice balls, just landed in the freezer section. Will they be as wildly popular as the kimbap? I think so. Full review here.
While it’s not a brand new color, yellow insulated bags are now in stores for early summer. Will we get a late summer color (magenta hit last year in the summer). Mini canvas totes are expected back in August/September, so we’ll see.
Finally, if you like to mix up the cheeses on your nachos, Trader Joe’s Taco Gouda is back. Seasoned with jalapeno pepper powder, cumin seeds, dried bell pepper, oregano, onion powder, and garlic. Grab a hunk for Cinco de Mayo. Should be a good melter.
