It’s a big week for new items at Trader Joe’s. Last week was a little slim, so there are a few stragglers included in the roundup. Here’s what we spotted in the Pacific Northwest.
NEW: EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK COOKIE MIX
I’m likin’ the looks of this cookie mix. Chocolate chips, oats, walnuts, pretzels, caramel bits, coconut and sea salt? Yes, please. If you’re a fan of cowboy cookies, I think this one’s gonna be right up your alley.
NEW: TRADER JOE’S SQUIGGLY NOODLES WITH SPICY GARLIC SESAME SAUCE
As much as I like a blank slate, the spicy garlic sesame sauce is probably gonna make this a one-stop meal for some folks. Add some tofu, some braised bok choy and green onions, and voila, dinner done. Yeah, it’s high in sodium (most packaged noodle soups are), but at least you’re getting 3g of fiber!
NEW: TRADER JOE’S UNEXPECTED CHEDDAR AND TURKEY SAUSAGE EGG WHITE BITES
If you need a easy, portable alternative to Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage Breakfast Bowl, these Egg White Bites with Unexpected Cheddar and Turkey Sausage might be the way to go.
NEW: BRIOCHE STYLE LIEGE WAFFLES
As a lifelong waffle lover (and maker of the. Blue Bottle recipe), it makes me a little sad that these are in the bakery section rather than frozen, but it didn’t stop me from grabbing a bag. (It was the palm oil that had me pausing — yet again). They feel like they’re individually wrapped (I haven’t opened them yet), and will be headed into the air fryer. I’m not expecting to beat from scratch, but we’ll see. They *are* Product of Belgium.
NEW: TRADER JOE’S COFFEE MOCHI ICE CREAM
Trader Joe’s teased the Coffee Mochi Ice Cream on a recent ep of Inside Trader Joe’s, so I’ve been on the lookout. High hopes for this one.
NEW: Trader Joe’s Ponzu Sauce
Continuing with Trader Joe’s yuzu kick, they’ve rolled out Ponzu Sauce. Usually used as a dipping sauce, I also drizzle it over some Japanese soups, like this Mille-Feuille Nabe with pork and nappa cabbage.
NEW: TRADER JOE’S ASSAM GOLDEN BLACK TEA
RETURNING: TRADER JOE’S RED BELL PEPPER, GARLIC & PARMESAN CREAM CHEESE
TJ’s bell pepper, garlic and parmesan cream cheese had a little bit too much going on for me, but I know lots of folks liked it. So no surprise that it’s back for a return engagement.
NEW: TRADER JOE”S CRUNCH CHILI ONION SPRINKLE
This was a straggler that showed up last week. And while I didn’t love the version in oil (the onion pieces were too big and too crunchy), I think the sprinkle’s got potential. Tasting it straight, it’s got a solid kick of heat, but I didn’t get any citrusy numbing from the sichuan peppercorns listed in the ingredients. Anyway, I’d sprinkle this one over noodles, maybe even season some chicken with it before sauteing. Maybe even popcorn.
RETURNING: SPECULOOS COOKIE BUTTER BEER
I’ll admit, I’ve never tried the Cookie Butter Beer. Seems to be a love it or hate it kind of thing. But anyway, it’s making a slightly early return this year.
