It’s really starting to feel like summer at Trader joe’s. We’ve got a ton of new and returning items hitting shelves this week, as spotted in the PNW. Let’s get into it, starting with the new stuff.
If I hadn’t just filled my freezer with Melona popsicles from Costco, I would have grabbed these freezer pops. Ten pops to a package, 100% juice in orange, berry, and cherry limeade.
Strawberries and Creme Pancake and Waffle Mix is headed for a waffle iron in my kitchen this weekend. With dried strawberry bits and white chocolate chips in the mix, they probably won’t even need syrup!
More Strawberry in the form of sorbet.
Trader Joe’s Yuzu Kosho. I haven’t cracked it yet to see how spicy it is straight out of the jar. But I’m thinking I’ll add it to marinades, maybe somen dipping sauce. Although I’m Japanese, I’ll be getting some help with this one.
I’m a big fan of passion fruit/ lilikoi flavored stuff, but I’m not so sure about it in granola?
Everything But the Bagel Cheddar Cheese. I’m interested to see how this one is, will it be extra garlicky like the Everything But the Bagel potato chips were? From the looks of things they’ve been pretty reasonable with the amount of seasoning in it, or at least, the seeds, anyway.
If you’re a fruity cream cheese person, I’m betting Trader Joe’s Peaches & Crteam Cream Cheese could be good for a DIY danish situation, maybe rolled up in crescent rolls?
I’m pretty sure this Hydrating Biocellulose Mask is new. It’s getting hard to keep track. The seasonal pumpkin mask was also biocellulose and the other hydrating mask was cucumber…
RETURNING ITEMS
Ube ice cream fans, your day has come. I’m holding out for the return of the ube mochi ice cream, my fave of all of TJ’s ube products.
Enchanted Jangle is back. If you liked the lemon yogurt animal crackers in the mini bags, this is your chance to have them again. You can see the distribution of the items in my review from last year.
Trader Joe’s consistently has the best price on halloumi, but the only catch is it’s a seasonal item. Good news for all of who love it, the halloumi is back!
I saw some mixed reviews last year on the Sea Breeze soap’s scent, but it must have done well enough to make it another year.
Other News
Patio Chips fans, you may have heard the bad news already, but Covered Bridge’s production plant in New Brunswick, Canada burned down. Meaning we won’t be seeing Patio Chips on shelves this summer. On the flipside, Carolina Gold BBQ chips have been showing up in some places. I haven’t seen them in the PNW yet.
