Here’s what new at Trader Joe’s today as spotted in the Pacific Northwest. For those tracking the return of Kimbap in the freezer section sometime this month, it wasn’t at my local today. Anyway, let’s get to it.
I’d seen a couple folks mention this Butternut Squash & Caramelized Onion tart online. What they didn’t mention is it’s $9.99! I try not to be the “you could make that” guy, since I know not everyone is big on cooking or has a fully stocked kitchen. But in this case, $9.99 is too rich for my blood. I’d just make it with a frozen pie crust. This was the last one, so maybe I’m alone in that. In the refrigerated section.
Par-Baked French Demi-Baguettes were in the freezer section right next to the Mini baguettes Trader Joe’s has had for awhile. Not sure if these will be a replacement, or just a slightly larger option. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Mini Baguettes, instead preferring the Portuguese Pao D’v Agua Rolls for a frozen bread option.
The felted sunflowers were a little too pricey for me, but if you’re still filling out fall decor, these felted pumpkins came in at a very affordable $6.99. I didn’t measure, but I’d guesstimate them to be about 6-8 inches across.
Along with the pumpkin-shaped pasta, my local is also carrying Di Bari Black and Orange Pappardelle. I generally avoid dyed pastas, they always look prettier before you cook them.
Trader Joe’s Spinach and Feta Egg White Burrito looked promising until I flipped it over and saw that it has 18g of fat and 32% of your daily recommended sodium. It also has cream cheese on the ingredient list along with feta, so I’m assuming that’s partially how it’s getting to 18g. Not sure on the price, it was in the Cheeseburger Burrito spot.
