Today we’re going inside a new trick-o-treat candy candidate — Trader Joe’s Wicked Good Mini Chocolate Bars. When I saw the bag online, for some reason I figured it was single serve, but no, this is a 24-piece bag of candy.
It features four varieties: Nougat Chocolate Bar (yellow), Caramel & Wafer (black), Nougat & Caramel (purple), and Peanut.& Caramel (dark blue). They’re product of Germany and best I can tell we have Snickers and 3 Musketeers knock-offs plus two others.
You’d think with 4 flavors, you’d get 6 of each, but no I only got 5 of two of the flavors. If you’re giving them out for Halloween, it doesn’t really matter either way. And as it turns out, that’s totally fine for me.
Among the four, the Snickers knock off (caramel and peanut) is closest to its inspiration. The nougat in the 3 Musketeers dupe is actually more chocolatey than an American 3 Musketeers, so it’s a tiny bit different, but still good. Caramel and Wafer was too crunchy? I wanted it to be more like a Kit Kat type wafer and it’s almost more like puffed rice, but hard. And finally, caramel and nougat was fine. The caramel wasn’t super noticeable to me.
So for overall ranking:
- Caramel & Peanut (Snickers dupe)
- Nougat (3 Musketeers dupe)
- Caramel and Nougat
- Caramel and Wafer
Would I give out Trader Joe’s Wicked Good Mini Chocolate Bars for Halloween? Honestly, I’d stick with the “regular” Halloween candy. Trader Joe’s also had mini bags of Halloween gummies and I’d probably give those out instead.

October 4, 2023 at 9:26 amI thought maybe the caramel and wafer bar would be like Kit Kat but it was actually like 100 Grand. I love the retro taste of it and can’t wait to try the other bars in the bag! (Trying to pace myself.)
