While everyone’s waiting on pumpkin-palooza to start, let’s take a look at what’s new (and returning!) at Trader Joe’s. As spotted in the Pacific Northwest. BTW, word from my local is that pumpkin stuff is due back starting September 6, YMMV.
Let’s start with what’s Back Again. First up, Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche. This was discontinued some months ago, but looks like it’s back. I can’t remember ever buying it, so I won’t be too helpful on whether it’s a new formulation, but it’s got a pretty clean ingredient list. That said, it’s packing 28g of fat in a 420 calorie quiche with 160 mg of sodium.
Also returning are the Maple Pancake Snaps. I remember people liking these last year, I never got around to trying them.
NEW
Onion Confit Swirls — These look like little caramelized onion palmiers. Looks like a good choice to go with your favorite cheese or charcuterie board.
Pretzel Breadsticks — The first thing I thought of are the chocolate dipped pretzel rods people make around Christmas time. Looks like it could be a good candidate. I’ll pick these up next time.
Lemongrass Shampoo and Conditioner — It’s not typically my favorite scent, it reminds me of hotel shampoo. But it might be worth checking out. According to Trader Joe’s, it’s made by a supplier in New Zealand.
Waffle Weave Cotton Kitchen Towels – Trader Joe’s teased these way back in the spring. They do look like they’ll get softer and softer as you wash them. If the edges don’t curl up like TJ’s last version, it’ll be a win. Three colors at my local — red, blue and green. If you see others, let me know!
