And the Beef Ones Too
You know that meme of the guy eating a Popeye’s Cheddar Biscuit and he says, “My disappointment is immeasurable. And my day is ruined.” It me. We tried Trader Joe’s Mini Chicken Tacos (and the beef ones, too) and man. It me.
I airfried them for 5 minutes at 375F per the instructions, flipping them half way through the cook time. And they definitely crisp up nicely, but that filling. Dude. The meat is a pasty, thin, almost flavorless layer between two halves a corn tortilla. Both the beef and the chicken! I almost couldn’t tell the difference between them! Such a letdown.
While the ingredient list is pretty straightforward, one serving is 4 tacos. FOUR! One serving of the chicken tacos clocks in at 260 calories, 13g of fat. So not worth it, esp when you need to sprinkle a little cheese over them and dip them in salsa, guacamole and/or sour cream to actually have some flavor!
The sadness is real. After missing the old Mini Beef Tacos for so long, without even a taquito to hold you over, Trader Joe’s has gotta go back to the drawing board on these.
Will I buy Trader Joe’s Mini Chicken Tacos again? Or beef? Nope. No. Never again. Nah.
