With all the ice cream and popsicles TJ’s put out this summer, I’ve lagged on getting around to Trader Joe’s Peanuts for Chocolate Ice Cream. And my freezer is pretty full. But, here we go! So, if you liked the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Dipped Joe-Joe’s that came out earlier this summer, this ice cream is a lock.
Chocolate Peanut Butter has been one of my flavors since 31 Flavors was our local when I was a kid. And to be honest, Trader Joe’s previous version (maybe 3-5 years ago?) was just ok. But this one? Rich chocolate flavor, nice creamy mouth feel, but it doesn’t melt too fast (and it was in the low 90s, no A/C today).
My pint could have done with more cookie pieces, but you can definitely taste the peanut butter from the cookie. It’s almost like a Girl Scouts’ Tagalong-type taste. But I had to dig a little for the cookie bits and they’re a little soft.
Overall, it’s a win in a summer of mostly great ice cream options from TJ’s.
