Just looking at this photo has me longing to be on vacation again. A few weeks ago, we squeezed in one last little summer getaway for us and the dogs and drove down to Cannon Beach. Here’s a quick look at a few of the highlights.
The thing to know is in the off-season, some restaurants/bakeries are closed a couple of days mid-week and don’t include hours on their Web sites. So call ahead if you’re planning a trip this fall/winter.
Sleepy Monk: Locally roasted coffee served by some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. They also offer delicious baked goods, that I think may be provided by Waves of Grain Bakery at the other end of town.
Pizza A’Fetta: We picked up a pepperoni supreme to enjoy on our deck. Generous toppings, pretty good crust, and it was even tasty cold the next day.
Irish Table: Hands down our best meal in Cannon Beach. It was our best meal, but not my best photos. Low-light conditions strike again! This Guinness Ice cream sandwich followed the beet and peach salads (separately), a rich chicken pasty and a nice bottle of Owen Roe Merriman Pinot Noir. Co-located with Sleepy Monk on Hemlock Street.
